12 Dec 2006, Hong Kong – Guardforce was nominated for the Certificate of Outstanding Performance for the 11th Employers Gold Star Award by Employees Retraining Board (ERB).

ERB has organized the Employers Gold Star Award for 11 consecutive years partnering with non-profit organizations such as YWCA, YMCA, HKCTU, HKCT, Methodist Centre, Caritas and Christian Action to help unemployed individuals adjust to economic changes, enhance their skills and increase their chances of employability.

Since 2005, Guardforce has been an active supporter of the ERB program by employing more than 600 individuals who have completed the retraining as security guards and in various other support functions; providing assistance in developing various customer service, security guard and other training modules; and on-the-job training as well as career coaching for individuals hired by Guardforce.

"For two consecutive years, Guardforce has hired individuals who completed the training program as security guards,” Douglas Renwick, General Manager, Guardforce said.

Guardforce will join other award recipients at the Award Ceremony held on January 5, 2007 at the Olympian City, Hong Kong.

"We believe that ERB is on the right path to assist individuals who have been affected by economic changes and we will continue to support the Board," Renwick continued. “This Award is an accolade that reflects how Guardforce and our employees enjoy giving back to the community.”
